I’m thinking I’ll just play this during the meet.

Get more money , buy happiness.
Why is HR even asking these types of questions? Isn't it obvious?

Because they are about to rearrange the deck chairs on the titanic again.

“Anything you say can and will be used against you. Hell, we may even decide to not retain you based on this brief, annual interaction. Aaaaaaand: go.”

Last year my company instituted some new software for the whole review process. I went in with my usual optimistic spirit and answered things honestly, highlighting what I thought were my accomplishments for the prior year. Then everyone’s reviews came out, and to a person the scores were lower than the previous year and we were all put on write-ups.
Halfway through the year we were called in one by one to a back office. I went in and was informed that we were getting gifts based on our review score. Involuntarily, I let out a bit of a laugh. I still got a very nice rain jacket with the company logo, but of course didn’t get any other rewards.
A few months ago we had to do the automated review thing again. I waited until they said it had to be done because I certainly wasn’t going to waste my own time to do this at home. I’m a little jaded this time around and figure that whatever I put in that system will probably not have any affect on my score, particularly since most of our review is based on the performance of the group as a whole. I quickly put in some tripe with a few management buzzwords thrown in to fill the blank spaces and rated myself fairly, a little on the positive side because, well, if I don’t do it, who will? Realistic, but not venturing into Dunning-Kruger territory (I hope...)
There are some individual stats, like punctuality and attendance, but given my medical issues I don’t think I can be blamed for missing a lot of work. On the bright side, on the rare days that I actually do go to work I am on time...
